Why It Exists
Registering as a home builder means passing an assessment on standards most builders know in practice but have never had to answer questions about. The material to study is a manual; what was missing was a way to practise, find out which areas cost you marks, and read the clause behind an answer you got wrong.
How the Questions Are Written
Every question is written against the published SANS 10400 and SANS 2001 standards and the NHBRC Home Builders Manual, the same documents the assessment draws on. Each one records the part it came from, so an answer always points at something you can go and read.
They are our own work. They are not the assessment’s questions, and nobody outside the NHBRC has those. Anyone selling “the actual exam questions” is selling you a practice pack with a dishonest label.
When One Is Wrong
Report it, through the app’s feedback option or the support form. A report is checked against the standard the question cites, and the question is corrected or removed. This is the part of the product most worth your time reporting on.

What This Is Not
It is not the NHBRC, not endorsed by the NHBRC, and not a route to registration. Passing a practice test here is not a qualification and does not guarantee a result. Registration is handled by the NHBRC itself. See our registration guide for what that involves.
What You Pay for, and Getting It Back
Full Access is R340, paid once. It does not renew. What happens if you want the money back depends on where you paid, and both routes are set out on our refunds page.
