What Is in the PDF

  • 10 multiple-choice questions on foundations, four options each.
  • An answer key on its own page, so you can cover it while you practise.
  • The reason behind every answer, and the SANS reference it comes from.
  • A footer on every page saying the material is independent and not from the NHBRC.

These are the same 10 questions that are free on the practice test, and they are printed with their answers on the questions page. The PDF only repackages them; nothing in it is held back for paying customers, and nothing from the paid question bank is in it.

How to Use It

  1. Print the questions, or keep the file open beside a notepad.
  2. Answer all 10 without looking at the answer pages.
  3. Mark yourself against the answer key.
  4. Read the reason behind every one you missed, and look the clause up in your copy of the standard.

Prefer feedback after each question? The online version marks you as you go. For a note on what makes these useful, read how to use NHBRC practice questions.

A Sample, Not the Whole Bank

All 10 questions are foundations questions, because the app’s free tier starts there. The NHBRC technical assessment covers more than this, and one sample cannot tell you how ready you are.

The app’s free tier has 20 questions and a timed practice test. Full Access opens all 277 questions, drills built from the areas costing you marks, and the 15 reference documents. One payment of R340, and it never renews.

Or start with the free tier in the app:

These are practice questions written from the published standards, not the questions in the assessment itself, and they were checked against those standards on 6 September 2026. Our editorial policy sets out what that check is, and what fails it. Spotted a mistake? Tell us and we will fix it.
